PUTRAJAYA: A hot air balloon has made an emergency landing following a minor mishap involving logistical obstructions at the launching field at Precinct 2, here on Sunday.
AKA Balloon Sdn Bhd, the organiser of the 6th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, said the hot air balloon from Korea, piloted by Steve Kim, had to execute an immediate safety landing to put out a minor fire when a tree got caught in the balloon's envelope at 7.45am.
"The fire was contained within a minute.
"There were no injuries. The balloon was not carrying any passengers but only its crew," it said in a statement.
It also said that all measures were taken to ensure the safety and security of the balloons as stipulated by the governing authorities.
