KUALA LUMPUR: A Sessions Court here sentenced an insurance agent to 11 years in jail and ordered him to be caned six times for two counts of cheating his friend’s mother by inducing her to pay RM800,000 in insurance premium two years ago.

Sessions judge Mat Ghani Abdullah sentenced Tee Wei Chiang to five years’ jail and instructed him to be whipped three times for duping Wong Kok Fong into believing he could help her buy an insurance policy and that he had dishonestly induced the housewife to deposit the alleged insurance premium payment of RM400,000 into his account.
