Tengku Sulaiman Shah heads Johor honours list


MUAR: Tengku Panglima Diraja Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Almarhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah led the list of 408 recipients of state honours and medals in conjunction with the 55th birthday anniversary of the Sultan of Johor.

Tengku Sulaiman Shah was conferred the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Pertama (DKI) by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, at the investiture held at the Dewan Jubli Intan Sultan Ibrahim, here.

Meanwhile, Johor Royal Advisory Council Members Tunku Mahmood Tunku Mohammad was conferred the Darjah Kerabat Johor Yang Amat Dihormati Pangkat Kedua (DK II) and Tunku Omar Tunku Mohammad was conferred the Darjah Mah­kota Johor Yang Amat Mulia Pangkat Kedua Datuk Paduka Mahkota Johor (DPMJ).

Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin was conferred the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia Pangkat Pertama Datuk Seri Paduka Mahkota Johor (SPMJ) which carries the title “Datuk”.

The same award was also conferred to Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN) Tan Sri Dr Ali Hamsa and Deputy Prime Minister’s wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman.

During the ceremony steeped in royal Johor tradition, nine individuals received the Darjah Mahkota Johor Yang Amat Mulia Pangkat Ketiga Setia Mahkota Johor (SMJ).

The recipients were Kota Tinggi District Officer Mohd Noorazam Osman, Johor Deputy Director of the Land and Mines Department Azmi Rohani, DSP R. Sugumaran, the Aide-de-camp (ADC) to the Sultan of Johor, Col Normin Mohd Shahar; and the Director of the Johor Envi­ronment Department Mokhtar Abdul Majid.

Other recipients of the SMJ were State Director of Health Dr Mohd Khairi Yakub; State Forestry Director Yahaya Mohamood. State Mineral and Geoscience Department Director Shahar Effendi Abdullah Azizi, and State Deputy Director of the Royal Customs Basirun Songip.

Twenty-two recipients received the Pingat Kerana Lama dan Baik Dalam Perkhidmatan (PLP), including Johor State Secretary Datuk Obet Tawil. — Bernama
