THE Kedah Malaysian Indian Justice Party (MIJP) is doing all it can to mobilise support for the Barisan Nasional in the general election, Tamil Nesan reported.
Kedah Barisan Nasional chief Datuk Paduka Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said that currently, the Indian support for Barisan has increased due to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's commitment and allocations given to the Indian community. He said this after launching the MIJP Sungai Petani election machinery.
MIJP national president Datuk Seri P. Krishna said 168 branch leaders in Kedah would make house-to-house visits to garner support and ensure that Barisan achieved success in the coming elections.

Police have arrested 12 people in connection with the incident.
A Tamil activist, who spotted the monk on the premises of the temple, questioned him about his nationality.
When the monk said he was from Colombo, the man tipped off several Tamil protesters.
Eyewitnesses said the monk appeared to be upset when he was asked to leave the place.
