Student detained over Facebook posting

KLANG: Police have detained a 25-year-old university student in connection with an alleged Facebook posting which insulted Islam.

The student was said to have made the posting in July.

It is learnt that the student's house was damaged by some 20 people at about 10pm on Tuesday.

South Klang OCPD ACP Mohd Mat Yusop said the police received the first report on the Facebook posting at 11.03pm that night.

Following the report, he said police picked up the suspect at his house in Taman Klang Jaya at noon Wednesday and confiscated a laptop.

ACP Mohd Mat said more than five reports had been lodged on the matter.
