KOTA KINABALU: Subsidised essential goods such as sugar, rice and cooking gas are being smuggled out of the Sabah east coast district of Tawau, a state assemblyman said.
Datuk Hamisa Samat (BN-Tanjung Batu) said smugglers were most active between midnight and dawn, especially during the weekends.
