Yong ordered to pay RM1mil


KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Yong Teck Lee has been ordered by the High Court here to pay RM1mil in damages in a defamation suit brought by Tan Sri Harris Salleh, another former Chief Minister.

Justice Datuk Abdul Rahman Sebli made the order after ruling in favour of Harris in his suit against Yong over the Sabah Air Nomad plane crash at Sembulan near here on June 6, 1976, which killed then Chief Minister Tun Fuad Stephens and 10 others.
