JITRA: Armyworms known as ulat ratus among local farmers have been attacking some 200ha of padi which are ripening for harvest in Kubang Pasu here and causing huge losses.
Due to the month-long attacks by the armyworms, known scientifically as Spodoptera mauritia, over 100 farmers have now incurred losses of more than RM150,000.
