Bahasa Malaysia not a problem for Siamese speaker

KUALA LUMPUR: Manager Amuutha Valli Nadarajah was pleasantly surprised to finish fifth in the Prime Minister Political Public Speaking contest, considering that Bahasa Malaysia is not her first language.

A native Siamese speaker, Amuutha, 26, likes to take part in Malay-language debating contests to challenge herself and her native Malay-speaking opponents to show that language can be mastered by anyone willing to learn.
