BUTTERWORTH: The country is keen to grow a foreign hybrid rice variant to increase domestic production and help the nation attain a 100% self-sufficiency rate.
Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Datuk Mustapa Mohamed said researchers from the Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Mardi) were presently conducting a test to grow the hybrid variant from China.
