Datuk cleared by cops

MALACCA: The state government bestowed a datukship on a former state agency official with a previous conviction for criminal breach of trust after the police gave the clearance. 

In a reply to queries from DAP Kota Laksamana state assemblyman Betty Chew, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Ali Rustam said the police had no objection to the title awarded to Hasnoor Sdg Husin who was the former general manager of the Malacca International Trade Centre.
