Sanctuary faces logging threat

KOTA KINABALU: Barely two weeks after a third Borneo pygmy elephant was found killed near the wildlife sanctuary at the Kinabatangan region in Sabah’s east coast, the area appears to be facing another threat – logging. 

Recent tree-felling activities were reported along Sungai Menganggul, a tributary of Sungai Kinabatangan that is renowned as one of the premier areas in Sabah to view the proboscis monkey.
