HUNDREDS of prison warders are leaving the service each year because of the low pay, leaving one officer to take care of 200 prisoners for each shift, reported Utusan Malaysia.
According to the Prisons Departments latest statistics, between 100 and 200 warders had resigned because of the pay, which they said was very low compared with what was received by police and armed forces personnel.
