MIRI: Tough restrictions imposed by timber companies on the entry and movement of people inside logging territories are disrupting the work of government officials and elected representatives, said MP for Ulu Rejang Billy Abit Joo.
Abit, whose constituency is the largest parliamentary seat in Malaysia, claimed that government officials and state assemblymen in his area were being subjected to “unreasonable and difficult” conditions by logging operators.
