KUALA LUMPUR: After the success in producing diesel from palm oil and vitamin products from palm kernel, the oil palm industry has entered into a new phase that promises substantial income for the country.
This time around, the trunk is expected to generate additional income for plantation owners. Research has found that the oil palm trunk can be used in the making of laminated veneer lumber (LVL) to produce various products, including furniture and partition walls.
