PENANG: The second “inclined lift” at the 115-year-old Kek Lok Si Temple is now ready to serve as a standby facility in case the existing one breaks down.
Temple trustee Datuk Steven Ooi said the country’s only hillslope lifts would link the temple’s lower station near the pagoda to the upper station at the Kuan Yin (Goddess of Mercy) statue’s complex.
