THE Housing and Local Government Ministry has asked the National Audit Department to study the open tendering practised by the National Landscape Department, which supposedly gives contractors a 200% profit.

“This is to upgrade the Landscape Department and rectify weaknesses or discrepancies which occur during the tendering process,” Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting said in reply to Hamim Samuri (BN – Ledang).

  • HIGHWAY concessionaires have to date incurred RM89.31mil in costs in implementing the standardised electronic toll collection system using Touch 'n Go since Aug 1.

Works Minister Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu said the cost to stop other forms of electronic collection systems and install Touch 'n Go was borne by the respective highway concessionaires.
