KOTA BARU: Both state Barisan Nasional and PAS leaders have stated their acceptance of the three Election Court decisions on the 10 petitions they had submitted to dispute the March 21 polling results.
State Umno chief Datuk Mustapa Mohamed welcomed the decisions and said all party members should also respect the decisions.
The time has come for Barisan to concentrate on rendering help to the people of Kelantan in terms of development as promised in the manifesto during the general election.
We want to leave this episode behind and move forward for the benefit of the people, he said in a telephone interview.
State PAS deputy commissioner (3) Husam Musa said he was thankful to God for the decisions of the three courts.
We accept the courts' decisions with an open heart and now that the petitions and political threats are over we want Barisan to allow us to run the government without any interference.
We want to concentrate on the development of the state and the people and since this matter (the petitions) is a thing of the past, we will ensure that development plans are implemented, said Husam, who is also spokesman for the PAS state government.
Che Min Che Ahmad, who was declared the Pasir Puteh MP by the Election court here yesterday, said he planned to give more attention to youth development and Islam Hadhari in the area.
He added that he would focus on the younger generation because if no attention is given they may get involved in unhealthy activities.
The youth is the backbone of the country and their well-being is important, he told reporters outside the court after the decision.
It's been two to three months (since the election), so there's a lot of work to be done for Pasir Puteh and its constituents, Che Min said.
He added that it was also important to implement the Islam Hadhari concept to enable the younger generation to accept Islamic principles as their guide to decide between what is right and what is wrong.
