JOHOR BARU: Despite five separate enforcement raids in eight months and seizing branded imitation leather goods totalling almost RM1mil from two outlets, the authorities still cannot close down the illegal operation.
Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Ministrys enforcement chief (south) Sulaiman Salam said they had no power to close the shops because they could not get brand owners to verify the authenticity of the goods confiscated.
