Have reservists, fire department urged

BUKIT MERTAJAM: A state executive councillor has suggested that the Fire and Rescue Department have its own volunteer reserve unit, similar to that of the police and armed forces. 

Berapit assemblyman Lau Chiek Tuan said the Federal Government should look into the feasibility of setting up such a unit, which could absorb the manpower from existing volunteer firefighting units.
