KUALA LUMPUR: About 30,000 senior graduate and non-graduate teachers should be breathing a big sigh of relief because they no longer have to struggle with the Penilaian Tahap Kecekapan (PTK) (Assessment of Efficiency Level) examination to enjoy better pay and promotions.
Under the Malaysian Remuneration System (SSM), introduced on Nov 1 last year, all civil servants have to sit for and pass the PTK examination to qualify for vertical and horizontal salary increases as well as promotions.
