PETALING JAYA: A Public Bank officer suspected something was amiss when processing a RM150,000 withdrawal from a joint bank account which had only four days ago been credited with RM322,488 from a cheque from the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF).

Mohd Fazli Kassim, 28, from the Public Bank's branch in Sungai Buloh, told a Sessions Court that he thought it was strange when Nur Chahaya Abd Malik applied for such a withdrawal on Feb 17.
