Wong finds luck with number 13

KUALA LUMPUR: Despite being contestant Number 13, luck was on Wong Sze Zen’s side when she was crowned Miss Malaysia/World 2003 last night. 

Besides clinching the Miss Beautiful Legs subsidiary award, the 23-year old business and IT graduate from here, also had the distinction of being the first local beauty queen to wear the RM1mil crown. 

“This is unreal. I had confidence but the other contestants were just as good. This is a joyous occasion for me,” said Wong, after the glittering event attended by Culture, Arts and Tourism Minister Datuk Paduka Abdul Kadir Sheikh Fadzir.  

Former Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ling Liong Sik and his wife Datin Seri Ena Ling were also attended the event held at the Renaissance Hotel.  

The first runner-up was Alexis Leong Ly Ee, 24, from Negri Sembilan, the second runner-up was Sabahan Sharon Liew Fei Chun, 18, and while the third runner-up was Penangite Ng Chelsia, 22.
