Sabah MCA to make polls request

KOTA KINABALU: Delegates to the Sabah MCA convention this weekend are expected to request that Barisan Nasional field at least one candidate from the party in the coming state elections. 

State MCA information chief Jacob Yan said that this was among the resolutions to be proposed at the convention in Sandakan district on Sunday. 

He said other resolutions would include an appeal to speed up work on a permanent campus for Tunku Abdul Rahman (TAR) College in the state. 

Some 1,000 Sabah MCA members will attend the convention which will be opened by party president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting.  

MCA deputy president Datuk Chan Kong Choy will open the Youth and Wanita meetings on Saturday.
