KUALA LUMPUR: Almost 70% of all occupational diseases are due to chemical exposure, which results in problems like skin diseases, poisoning and respiratory disorders, National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye said yesterday.
He said studies showed that the occurrence of diseases and sickness were partly due to improper use of personal protective equipment, from selection of such equipment to its washing or disposal.
