PETALING JAYA: The agriculture sector is facing a new challenge in view of the importance placed by consumers and business partners on socio-political issues ranging from sustainability to human rights.
“The school of thought that plantation agriculture could not be compared or managed like any other business should be thrown out in this new millennium to guarantee sustainability,” said M.R. Chandran, the chairman of the technical committee for the 4th International Planters Conference to be held from June 16 to 18 in Kuala Lumpur.
