Talks on new SARS rules for students

KUALA LUMPUR: The new measures imposed on students travelling out of Singapore will be on top of the list at the joint-border meeting, scheduled to be in the republic next month. 

According to the measures posted on the Singapore Education Ministry web site on May 16, foreign students travelling out to any country from the republic will have to put up a refundable deposit of S$1,000 (RM2,200) and surrender their student passes to the institution.
