KUALA LUMPUR: The rate of employee retrenchment between year 2001 and last year dropped by 30.6%, a total of 26,457 workers in 2002 compared to 38,116 the year before, said Datuk Dr Fong Chan Onn.
The Human Resource Minister said full employment rate had increased by 0.2% last year, noting that most of the workers were school-leavers aged between 20 and 24.
