SHAH ALAM: An unemployed man who admitted to raping his two daughters yesterday requested that Sessions Court Judge Suraya Othman issue him with a protection letter to ensure that he would not be assaulted during his remand in Sungai Buloh prison while waiting to be sentenced next month.
The 38-year-old accused also proceeded to ask the judge what rape meant.
In requesting the protection letter, the accused said he feared for his safety while in prison as I have heard that incest offenders are severely assaulted by other inmates and by prison officers.
He added that he would not be able to cope with the assaults as he was suffering from Hepatitis B.
Judge Suraya told the man she did not have jurisdiction over the situation in prison. The judge said she was made to understand that all offenders were treated equally in prison.
Should there be any kind of assaults or physical abuse, you can always lodge a report with the relevant authorities.
The accused admitted to a charge of rape and three other charges of incest involving two of his underaged daughters.
The judge fixed April 29 for sentencing and denied bail in view of the severity of the charges.
