PENANG: The Customs and Excise Department will buy additional firearms to protect its 3,000 enforcement personnel following an increase in threats from armed smugglers.
This would include equipping all those serving on patrol boats, said its director-general Datuk Paduka Abdul Halil Abd Mutalib.
