Sultan receives award

SHAH ALAM: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalullail has conferred the Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara (DMN) award on the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, ahead of the latter’s installation and coronation as the ninth Ruler of Selangor on March 8. 

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Mahathir Mohamad presented the award on behalf of the King to Sultan Sharafuddin at a brief ceremony in Istana Bukit Kayangan here yesterday. 

Also present were the Prime Minister’s wife Datin Seri Dr Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo and his wife Datin Seri Zaharah Kechik, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Samsudin Osman and Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Norian Mai.
