KUALA LUMPUR: The Federal capital will sport Formula One colours and turn into a carnival city during race week of the 2003 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix in March.
Datuk Bandar Datuk Mohmad Shaid Mohd Taufek said numerous activities had been lined up by Kuala Lumpur City Hall and Sepang International Circuit to attract more tourists to the country for the race.
“We will work together to sell Kuala Lumpur as the Grand Prix City and woo tourists for the event,” he said, in his speech at the launch of “The World's Hottest Race is Back at the Grand Prix City” campaign at Dataran Merdeka last night.
Finance Minister II Datuk Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis, launched the event, which was telecast live by RTM1.
The 2003 Petronas Malaysian Grand Prix, the second round of this year's Formula One world championship, is scheduled to held from March 21 to 23.
