KOTA KINABALU: The Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) has completed its investigations over the management buyout of the Sabah Land Development Board's (SLDB's) shares in Sapi Plantations Sdn Bhd and also over another case on alleged irregularities in the installation of water meters.

ACA director of investigations Datuk Nordin Ismail said yesterday that they were now waiting for a decision from the Senior Federal Counsel’s office on the two cases.

“The Sabah ACA has submitted their investigation papers to our headquarters. They are now with the Attorney-General’s Chambers,” he said.

The ACA has been investigating over the last few years the management buy out of the SLDB’s shares in Sapi Plantations Sdn Bhd and a water meter installation contract worth RM25mil.

Asked if the investigations took time because they involved high-profile individuals, Nordin replied:

“If you want to catch big fishes you have to go to the deep sea. In other words it is quite complicated.”
