WHEN I was penning my last column on student autonomy, I could not have envisioned how the unfolding global student protests in response to the ongoing war in Gaza would grow.

In recent weeks, student demonstrations over the ongoing war have swept across the United States. Authorities have dispersed several encampments following clashes between protesters and counter-protesters.
