Thousands of people from all walks of life attended a Chinese New Year open house hosted by Five Petroleum Malaysia.

A core highlight of the festive gathering was an RM1mil donation presentation to various education, charity, sports and religious organisations, reaffirming Five Petroleum’s unwavering dedication to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community empowerment.

Notably, TARC Education Foundation received a significant RM500,000, providing vital funding to advance higher education and nurture future Malaysian talents.

Five Petroleum founder and chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr King Lim Chin Fui highlighted the important role of corporations in nation-building.

“We believe that success must be shared and growth must be inclusive.

“Our commitment to education, social welfare and sustainable development extends far beyond business.

“True corporate success is not measured solely by profitability but by the positive impact made on society.

“This contribution is a testament to our responsibility in creating a brighter future for all Malaysians,” he said.

The guest of honour was Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

Other special guests include MCA deputy president Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov, Malaysia’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Ilham Tuah IIlias, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan to Malaysia Dr Karomidin Gadoev, former MCA ministers Tan Sri Liow Tiong Lai and Tan Sri Chua Soi Lek, social activist Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye, along with top police officers, namely, Johor CPO Datuk M. Kumar, Melaka CPO Datuk Md Nazri Zawawi and Negri Sembilan CPO Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof.

Lim, who is also Malaysia-Uzbekistan Business Alliance chairman and Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation vice chairman, said the open house was a good platform to showcase the country’s diversity and usher in the Year of the Snake.

“The open house is more than just a celebration of prosperity and unity.

“It is a powerful affirmation of our unwavering commitment to fostering diplomatic relations, driving economic growth and championing social progress,” he said.

Lim also emphasised his vision for expanding Malaysia’s trade with the global market.

“The strategic collaboration between Malaysia as the new Asean Chair and Uzbekistan is a crucial step towards stronger economic ties.

“The visit of Uzbekistan president to Malaysia is expected to bring forth significant announcements that will benefit both nations,” he said.

Lim said additionally, Five Petroleum aims to play a pivotal role in the energy sector by fostering collaboration with Commonwealth of Independent States countries through Uzbekistan, reinforcing its commitment to international partnerships and sustainable growth.
