Over 2,000 contract teachers to fill up vacancies in one-off recruitment, says Radzi

PETALING JAYA: Contract teachers will fill up about 2,400 of the remaining vacancies in the one-off recruitment of 18,702 teachers, says Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin.

He said as of May 11, a total of 13,770 teachers have been posted to schools nationwide.

“To fill in the remaining vacancies, we will take in 2,400 contract teachers.

“This means that 87% of the original need for teachers will be filled by the one-off recruitment drive.

“The balance that remains after taking in the contract teachers will be for subjects which are difficult to fill such as English, Pendidikan Seni Visual and subjects in SJKC schools,” he said in a video posted on his Facebook page on Wednesday (April 11).

Radzi said the announcement of offers for the contract teacher vacancies will made by the Education Services Commission before May 31.
