Teachers all for gamification...

I use the Points System in Frogplay games which which promotes positive reinforcement. It addresses the problem of students who are too lazy to do Math exercises.

I tell my students that they can improve their scores or score positive points if they complete the Frogplay Mathematics training before the due date.

Points are deducted or they are given negative points if they do not complete the exercises and submit late entries. If they score well in the games but failed to answer the quizzes well, they are disqualified.

This is to make sure that they concentrate on the quizzes while playing. The points are tabulated at the end of the week and the winner receives chocolates or stationery from me.

Mathematics teacher Eswaran Balakrishnan, SJK (T) Ladang Elaeis, Johor Quizzes and games encourage students to do more exercises.

If they are only doing written exercises, pupils will not be motivated to continue learning. Concentrate more, earn more and play more is the basis of the quizzes.

Gamification will encourage students to learn on their own even when no one is pushing them. Gamification improves interaction between pupils and teachers.

My pupils are concentrating more during the lessons because they want to score in the quizzes. At the same time, they get to indulge in a form of gaming that is good for their mental well-being.
