THE global market for robotic process automation (RPA) is anticipated to reach US$8,781.2mil (RM370mil) by 2026. Identified as a key enabling technology in Malaysia’s National Policy on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0), RPA will eliminate manual errors and reduce the time needed for daily processes.
RPA will also reinvent careers, shifting from task-based roles to leveraging human adaptability and problem solving.
New job opportunities are anticipated with growing demand for RPA professionals.
Collaborating with Automation Anywhere Inc (AAI), Inti International University & Colleges recently facilitated two training sessions on RPA development.
A global leader in RPA, AAI provides the platform on which organisations have built world-class Intelligent Digital Workforces. More than 1.8 million bots have been deployed to support some of the world’s largest enterprises.

The trainings were held at AAI’s first Bot Lab in Malaysia located at Inti International College Subang, which is fitted with AAI’s e-learning suite.
Beyond gaining additional skills, the training aimed to prepare students to sit for professional certifications that would enhance their career prospects.
Offered to staff and final-year students of Inti’s Computing and Information Technology programmes as a start, the training led to Inti becoming the first institution of higher learning to deliver RPA-certified students into the market, with 10 students and 10 staff successfully completing their training and examinations and receiving their certifications.
AAI product trainer Ng Li Xi, who facilitated the training sessions, said: “The objective of this training is to help our business partners build a new generation of employees with automation technology.
“We work with leading educational institutions like Inti to train qualified lecturers and students, who will then be able to reach out to more students and help them prepare as the next-generation workforce for the future of intelligent automation.”
The 20-hour training sessions were held over a six-day period for students and staff respectively, and included case studies from actual companies that used automation.
Ng explained, “Similarly in our training, we taught students and staff how to automate daily work processes, giving them the skillsets and knowledge to simulate similar situations faced by organisations.”

Rajeswaran Rajasegaran, a Bachelor of Computer Science student who attended the training, shared, “This training gave us an insight into how automation is transforming human processes and daily tasks, which saves time and enables individuals to focus on more meaningful work.
“These technologies are bringing exciting changes to future careers since many jobs are evolving with the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
“I look forward to learning more about this field and I’m grateful to Inti for helping us become IR4.0-ready.”
Inti International College Subang chief executive Dr Jane Lim said, “The global RPA market is expected to grow exponentially with the increasing demand in business digitisation and process innovation.
