Education transformation

NORMALLY, when writing pieces similar to this, one would phrase it in the form of a response to another article or reported opinion. In relation to the topic, I think there is no shortage of passionate opinions about our education system, as well as the current Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik. Many in Malaysia have been following the developments surrounding our education system. I’m here to provide my perspective as an “insider”.

As a disclaimer, I am not pretending to be an expert in education. I am part of the Education Performance and Delivery Unit (PADU), an independent unit tasked with the oversight and facilitation of the Malaysia Education Blueprint 2013 – 2025. I have been involved in some capacity with various parts of the education transformation journey, since 2017. I have worked with various ministry divisions, on a number of initiatives. I have been involved in PADU’s efforts to help the ministry carry out the transformation from multiple roles, from strategic planning to supporting implementation, from managing stakeholders to proactively identifying and addressing blind spots.
