English programme 

UNIVERSITI Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) will be conducting a programme English For Tertiary Study (Full Time/Part Time) commencing tomorrow at its PJ campus. This programme aims to help students enhance their English language skills to pursue tertiary education.

ELT Materials conference 

UNIVERSITI Putra Malaysia will be holding its second International Conference on English Language Teaching (ELT) Materials on Feb 8 & 9, at Swiss-Garden Resort and Spa, Damai Laut, Perak.  

Themed Expanding and Maximisng the Potential of ELT Materials, the conference will feature local speakers and speakers from abroad. Registration fees are RM180, inclusive of lunch and coffee breaks. Postal/money orders /cheques should be made out to Bendahari UPM, and sent together with the registration forms to the following address:

Talk on meetings 

TUNKU Abdul Rahman College’s (KTAR) Centre for Continuing Professional Education will be conducting a talk entitled Conduct meetings in half the time and triple the results on Feb 8, from 6pm to 8pm, at KTAR Learning Centre, Ground Floor, Wisrna MCA, Jalan Ampang, KL. MORPA award 

THE Malaysian Accountancy Research and Education Foundation (MAREF) is calling for entries to vie for its second annual MAREF-MIA Outstanding Research Paper Award (MORPA). Applicants have until Jan 31 to submit their entries. The competition, now in its second year, honours research in accounting and accepts papers in all accounting-related areas.  

Award recipients will receive plaques and cash prizes of RM3,000, RM2,000 and RM1,000. Seven consolation prizes will also be given away. For details, log on to: http://www.maref.org.my 

Career seminar 

LEO Club of Petaling Jaya Integrity, KDU College, Sri Kuala Lumpur and SMK Damansara Utama will be organising a career seminar entitled School's Over, Now What? on Feb 10, at Taylor’s University College Subang Jaya, between 9.30am and 4.45pm.
