Respect between prefects and students essential

HAVING read Jeeva Lohiten Rajoo’s letter entitled “It ain’t easy” (StarEducation, Sept 10), I would like to add some points not stated in my letter published earlier (StarEducation, Sept 3).

My statement that some students are reluctant to complain about prefects for fear of being beaten up has been refuted. Jeeva also said that the contrary often happens, that is, prefects get beaten up by students who have been punished by them.
