THREE months into Form One at SMK (P) Sultan Ibrahim, Johor Bahru, and I was already enlisted for prefect training. A friend used to tell me that being a school prefect was like being a “school slave” – I reckon that means I was a slave to my former school for a total of five years (add to that another five years as a prefect in my primary school, and you would get a super slave).
