Top-notch tie-ups

TAYLOR’S College, in partnership with several world-class corporations, is offering full scholarships worth more than RM1mil and an opportunity to intern or train with top global companies.

The scholarships are offered jointly with Air France - KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Campbell's, DHL, Nestle Food Services and Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur for students pursuing courses at Taylor's Business School (TBS) and Taylor's College, School of Hospitality and Tourism (TCHT).

Unlike conventional scholarships, which provide only financial assistance, the TWCS award enables recipients to undergo practical training with some of the world's most successful companies. The scholarship offers recipients a guaranteed internship as part of the degree course as well as an18-month training stint upon graduation.

“The scholarships embody our philosophy and pedagogy of equipping our graduates with industry-relevant education and creating demand for their services,” said Taylor's College president Ooi Chee Kok.

The scholarships are available to students enrolling for the Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Applied Finance, Bachelor of Management (Marketing) and Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Accounting and Finance.

It is also open to students pursuing the Hospitality and Tourism degrees that include the French Diploma in Culinary Arts and Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management (Hons) in the March intake. Applications opened on Feb 27.

Applicants will be judged on their academic qualifications in SPM, UEC, STPM or other pre-university courses. They will also be assessed according to their family's financial standing and their involvement in extra-curricular activities. To succeed, applicants need a good attitude, leadership qualities and persuasive communication skills.

In addition, applicants are required to write a one-page essay of between 300 to 500 words, encapsulating the expectations of a TWCS recipient during his/her undergraduate studies. Applicants can forward their entries via the forms available on Taylor's College website.

Successful recipients of the award must pass all examinations and maintain high academic standards during the course of study. Recipients must also be active in societies and activities.
