STAFF of PTPL Ampang pitted their wits and skills against students at a friendly football match recently.

The staff comprised administrative personnel and lecturers, while students registered for the match on a voluntary basis.

The aim was twofold – to enable staff and students to get to know each other and to choose players for PTPL Ampang's football squad.

A total of 37 students turned up for the selection process to form three teams. Team One beat the PTPL staff 4-1, while Teams Two and Three drew with the staff 3-3.

Meanwhile, another group of PTPL Ampang students visited an orphanage in Bandar Baru Bangi last month.

PTPL Ampang principal Norlina Arshad, who launched the programme, urged the students to help the less fortunate.

The students collected donations in the form of cash, clothes, books, stationery and sports equipment for the Darul Izzah Orphanage.

The group of 27 students was led by project director Mohd Talib Mohd Ali. Members of the PTPL Cultural Club entertained the children. The students also played games with the children during their visit, which included a gotong-royong session.
