Lau Wan Kuetiau in Medan Selera Wawasan, SS3/33. The stall proprietor Lau Wan began cooking the dish in 1981 using an originally Penang recipe. Although he himself is from Teluk Indah, his love of char kuey teow led him to learn the recipe then bring it over to Petaling Jaya with the idea that if a dish is authentic and of quality, then regardless of whether it is hot or cold, it will taste delicious.
THE Star People’s Food Awards this month, which features the Best Char Koay Teow category, has garnered 15 nominations from our readers’ choice of favourite char koay teow stalls and eateries.
