AN ICT Fair and a Christmas countdown concert will be held in George Town in the fourth week of the month.

The fair will be held at the ICT Digital Mall @ Komtar from 11am to 9pm, Dec 24 to 27 while the concert will be staged along Lebuh Lintang fronting the mall from 7.30pm to midnight on Dec 24. Entry to both events is free.

ICT Digital Mall senior marketing executive J. Josephine said there would be 100 booths and shops at the fair offering various types of attractively priced gadgets.

“The fair is held to reward our loyal customers and shoppers whom have supported us,” she told a press conference.

She expected about 100,000 visitors to the four-day fair organised by the mall and supported by the Penang government.

Josephine said the concert would feature band performances, flame throwers, acrobatic lion dance on stilts, sand animation and a Santa Claus appearance with goodies.

She said 1,600 paper-mache pandas from the World Wide Fund for Nature-Malaysia would be displayed at the venue from 2pm to 8pm on Dec 24 to create awareness for the support of wildlife.

Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik said a stretch of Lebuh Lintang, between its junctions with Magazine Road and Tek Soon Street, would be closed from noon to midnight that day for the concert and panda exhibition.

“Rapid Penang buses will stop in front of the Bank Rakyat branch along Magazine Road to pick up and drop off passengers during the period,” he said.

Also present were the mall’s general manager Leong Mee Meng, Penang Green Council general manager Thing Siew Shuen and XOX Mobile branch operation northern division senior manager Billy Tan.
