Former national goalkeeper Azmi qualifies for Prudential Astro Masters grand final

Winning pair: Azmi (left) and Ahmad Firdaus (right) flanking Perry Ong of AmBank at Kelab Rahman Putra.

Mohamed Azmi Mahmud has finally found his second calling. The burly Kedahan who took up golf after retiring from keeping goal for the national football team, snatched the 40th and final spot for the Prudential Astro Masters grand final when he won the gross title at Kelab Rahman Putra last week.

Playing in only his first season in the Prudential Astro Masters, Azmi joins 39 other qualifiers in the grand final that starts in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam, this Sunday.
