PENANG Gerakan is taking the Penang Municipal Council (MPPP) to task for allowing a majestic pre-war building in Macalister Road to be torn down.

State Gerakan secretary Oh Tong Keong said he was shocked when he learnt that councillor Dr Lim Mah Hui was unaware that the building, No 218, Macalister Road, had been torn down when he raised the issue during the council meeting on Wednesday.
