Having the whole spread of old-fashioned, traditional cookies is normally a once a year affair. As such, many would try to have an elaborate variety, such as kuih bangkit, bahulu, kek lapis, kuih makmur, biskut rotan, rempeyek, denderam, tumpi, dodol and wajik in their cookie jars.
These personal favourites have survived the test of time but sadly will only be seen during festive celebrations.
