Clearing choked rivers

DREDGING works to clear blocked river mouths in Batu Ferringhi, Penang, have started.

State Local Government, Traffic Management and Flood Mitigation Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow said sand that had formed barriers at the estuary of Sungai Mas, Sungai Batu Ferringhi, Sungai Satu, Sungai Kelian and Sungai Kechil would be dredged.
